The Aces
Even soaked in disco shimmer and emotional vulnerability, The Aces aren’t slowing down. Today, the beloved alt-pop quartet returns with “Twin Flame,” the latest single from their forthcoming album Gold Star Baby, due out August 15 via SoundOn. It’s a track that aches, pulses, and struts—evolving from a quiet, slow burn into a full-bodied, glitter-drenched anthem destined for sticky dance floors and late-night heartbreaks.
“‘Twin Flame’ is about that tortuous in-between of not wanting to let go, but knowing you need to,” the band shared in a statement. “This song also has a strong Latin influence from the guitar line to the bridge in Spanish. With half of us being Latina, we really wanted to express that part of who we are through this song.”
It’s an unmistakable declaration of identity—musical, cultural, emotional—that feels emblematic of where The Aces are headed with Gold Star Baby: a sapphic, disco-pop celebration that finds the band reveling in liberation and connection. If their last album charted the turmoil of self-discovery, Gold Star Baby is the euphoric sequel—a joyous, no-apologies party thrown by four best friends finally owning every inch of the spotlight.
Accompanying today’s single is the announcement of The Aces’ Gold Star Baby World Tour, kicking off in North America this fall with support from Lydia Night of The Regrettes. The run begins with festival sets at both editions of All Things Go (New York and DC) before launching into a multi-city headline leg stretching through December, followed by a full UK/EU circuit in early 2026. Tickets go on sale starting July 25, with multiple pre-sales beginning July 21.
Described by early listeners as a “strutting, disco ball bowling serve,” the track proves the band’s evolution is no accident, but rather the result of years of honed craft, sharpened instincts, and the unbreakable bond between members. Since debuting in 2017, sisters Cristal and Alisa Ramirez, along with bandmates Katie Henderson and McKenna Petty, have released three albums and notched over 250 million streams. Along the way, they’ve toured with 5 Seconds of Summer, COIN, and X Ambassadors, played major festivals like Lollapalooza, Sziget, and NY Pride, and earned accolades from Billboard, Out, and Dork Magazine, the latter calling their recent single “The Magic” their “most confident yet.”
If confidence is the currency of modern pop, The Aces are flush. But unlike many of their chart-topping peers, their confidence is rooted in community, queerness, and a rare kind of musical camaraderie. Gold Star Baby isn’t just a new record—it’s an open invitation to the club where everyone’s welcome, but especially girls who love girls.
Presave Gold Star Baby now. And bring your dancing shoes—The Aces are throwing the hottest party of the year.
