MisterWives
Featuring PVRIS, Betty Who, Meet Me @ The Altar & More, the 17-Track LP Puts Feminine Power Front and CenterOne year after the release of their bold, punk-charged fourth album Nosebleeds, MisterWives return with a deluxe companion LP that doesn’t just celebrate the original—it transforms it. Out now, Nosebleeds: Encore is a genre-defying 17-track reissue that reimagines the album with all-new vocal takes and arrangements, featuring an astonishing roster of all-female collaborators including Betty Who, Pom Pom Squad, Meet Me @ The Altar, Against The Current, Charlotte Sands, and a remix by The Aces.
The album opens with “Vultures,” a visceral, cathartic new track featuring Lynn Gunn of PVRIS. A searing indictment of misogyny in the music industry, the song leans fully into what the band calls “unapologetic feminine rage.” In Lee’s words, “I knew we needed someone with as much teeth as the music and there was no one better to do the job than the iconic Lynn Gunn—who didn’t just bring the energy but took the song to a whole new level!”
The official music video, premiered via FLOOD Magazine, places Lee and Gunn inside a stark white void, performing in a space punctuated only by a pair of chairs and a Newton’s cradle. FLOOD described the clip as invoking “a heated therapy session,” and called “Vultures” “equal parts catching and seething indictment of the music industry’s misogyny.”
Director Matty Vogel elaborated on the concept, saying, “The video for ‘Vultures’ centers on the crux of the song, being ‘stuck inside of a game’… we encounter Mandy, Lynn and the audience all lulled or hypnotized into normalcy, falling in line, and becoming part of a system.”
For Lee, the project is deeply personal—not just a reinterpretation of Nosebleeds, but an act of community and recognition. “‘Nosebleeds: Encore’ was not only another chance to celebrate our favorite record but a chance to celebrate some of our favorite voices in music,” she explains. “This album was all about setting free suppressed feelings unapologetically so it only felt fitting to create an environment filled with all the incredible women who continuously inspire me to do so.”
She continues, “It has been the biggest honor putting this project together and having so many artists I look up to lend their magic to these songs, making them better than ever has been the biggest dream come true.”
Released last July, the original Nosebleeds marked a new creative era for MisterWives, pairing sharp-edged pop-punk with synth-laced anthems of self-acceptance and emotional reckoning. Songs like “Out of Your Mind” and “Organized Chaos” have garnered millions of streams and critical praise, with PAPER Magazine spotlighting the latter for its ability to “bring repressed feelings to the surface.”
Lee described “Organized Chaos” to PAPER as “the reckoning of unhealthy patterns that are comfortable, not because it’s what’s right but because it’s so familiar,” and added, “Alchemizing those feelings into a track that is punchy and fearless both sonically and lyrically gives a lot of autonomy over putting those feelings into action.”
To support Nosebleeds: Encore, MisterWives will hit the road this fall for their Just For One Night! tour, launching with performances at both weekends of Austin City Limits on October 6 and 13. The nationwide trek includes support from Joan, Juliana Madrid, Meg Smith, and Moody Joody.
Speaking about the tour, Moody Joody shared, “We feel so honored to have been asked to be a part of this project alongside all of the badass women they are featuring, and it’s got us even more excited to hit the road with MisterWives this fall… Their shows are such high energy and we can’t wait to get to watch their set every night!”
