Disclosure and Anderson .Paak
After nearly a decade of mutual admiration, Disclosure and Anderson .Paak have finally joined forces — and the result is a sizzling new single that’s already heating up dance floors. “No Cap,” out now via Disorder/Capitol Records, finds the British electronic duo and the California-born funk maestro in lockstep, delivering a groove-heavy anthem tailor-made for summer parties and late-night club spins.
The track, co-written with longtime Disclosure collaborator Jimmy Napes, arrives with a studio-shot music video directed by Jackie Radinsky. The visual captures the trio in full performance mode: Guy Lawrence lays down drums with precision, Howard Lawrence rides synths with slick restraint, and Anderson .Paak — mic in hand, disco ball overhead — commands the room with effortless charisma and rapid-fire rhymes.
“This collab is well overdue, and I can’t wait to feed the people!” said .Paak in a press statement. “‘No Cap’ is the ideal dancefloor banger you don’t have to think about!”
Disclosure echoed the sentiment, noting the collaboration has been a long time coming. “Creating something with Andy has been a long time coming! We first met at our show at Forest Hills in NYC back in 2015 and have been fans of his for even longer,” said Guy and Howard Lawrence. “The time finally felt right, and the right song appeared. He’s one of the most talented musicians we have ever worked with.”
“No Cap” is a high-energy fusion of house, funk, and hip-hop — the kind of hip-house blend that’s been gaining steam in recent years thanks to artists like Channel Tres, Duckwrth, and Leikeli47. Anderson .Paak, known for his genre-jumping agility, proves more than up to the task, skimming across Disclosure’s buoyant production with swagger and soul.
The single marks Disclosure’s first release since last year’s Pa Salieu collaboration “King Steps,” and follows their 2023 album Alchemy. For .Paak, it adds to a growing list of electronic forays — from his surprise Coachella DoLab set to his recent genre-hopping track with K-pop icon G-Dragon, “Too Bad.” Next month, he’ll head out on tour with NxWorries, his duo with producer Knxwledge, in support of their album Why, Lawd?
With Disclosure’s North American tour kicking off in September — including stops in Seattle, Houston, Boston, and beyond — “No Cap” is poised to become a centerpiece of their live set. And if the energy of the studio video is any indication, it’ll be a moment worth catching.
