Sick Joy
Upcoming album drops January 30, 2026, with UK & European tour to follow
Brighton-based alt-rock trio Sick Joy are back with a bold announcement: their sophomore album, More Forever, is set for release on January 30, 2026, via SO Recordings. The highly anticipated follow-up to their 2022 debut We’re All Gonna Fing Die promises to be a sonic evolution, blending their signature alt-rock style with industrial elements, jagged synths, and explosive drums that dig into themes of grief, survival, love, and systemic damage.
More Forever was recorded in a remote Spanish studio, working with legendary producer Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, Mark Lanegan, Them Crooked Vultures), who helped craft the band’s raw, emotionally charged sound. The album was mixed by Josh “Hoagie” Harrison (Royal Blood, The Cure) and mastered by Katie Tavini. To whet the appetite for More Forever, Sick Joy has released the album’s first single, “All Damage,” accompanied by a haunting new music video. The track is available for streaming now on all major platforms, and it showcases the band’s evolving sound — a mix of dark, industrial influences with their signature riff-heavy rock.
Vocalist and guitarist Mykl Barton opens up about the new track, saying:
“Becoming aware of negative processes that were once subconscious, but still allowing them to rule. The persistent search for some chemical absolution for allowing the darkest parts of yourself to take the reins. Seeing the deep roots of these damaging, unsustainable coping mechanisms, but also still feeling a yearn towards them. The eternally aching dichotomy that’s been a constant my entire life.”
To celebrate the release of More Forever, Sick Joy will embark on a headline tour across the UK and Europe in early 2026, starting in Birmingham on January 29th, and concluding in Paris on February 20th.
Born out of the underground music scene in Newcastle and nurtured in Brighton’s vibrant rock community, Sick Joy is the brainchild of Mykl Barton. The band’s name, a perfect metaphor for the push-pull of life’s dualities — beauty vs. ruin, euphoria vs. despair — embodies their relentless pursuit to capture the stark contrasts within the human experience.
Since their formation, Sick Joy has carved a reputation as one of the UK’s most compelling rock bands, known for their raw and unapologetic energy. The band’s debut album earned widespread acclaim, drawing attention from press and fans alike, and they have since shared stages with rock heavyweights like Pixies and Pearl Jam, and have performed at major festivals such as Reading & Leeds and 2000 Trees.
With More Forever, Sick Joy is set to launch into a new era, one that promises to be heavier, hungrier, and more human than ever before. More Forever is the next step in Sick Joy’s ongoing evolution — a testament to their ability to wrestle with personal demons while crafting a sound that is both brutal and beautiful.
