TyriqueOrDie
A Sweaty and Sexy Anthem for the Summer
Toronto’s rave scene has a new anthem, and it comes courtesy of the city’s most unpredictable party-starter. On 15th August, rising electronic/hip-hop artist TyriqueOrDie unleashed his cheeky and chaotic new single, “Sex In The Mosh” — a track designed to blur the line between sweat-drenched dance floors and the raw, unrelenting energy of a mosh pit.
The track crashes in with that unmistakable Korg M1 stab — a wink to ’90s house kids — then hammers down with a chest-rattling bassline, while Tyrique’s flow slices straight through the chaos. It’s equal parts rave, rap, and riot, a sweaty love letter to the kind of nights you only half-remember but never forget. “Yes, it’s a true story,” he says with a grin, as if the song needed any more myth-making fuel.
The release comes just months after Ty’s earlier single “U Know How Dis Go,” which CBC Music praised as “the perfect vibe for your summer playlist.” That track earned global attention with spins from heavyweights like Todd Edwards, Purple Disco Machine, Duke Dumont, and Don Diablo, cementing Ty as a rising voice in the worldwide crossover between rap and electronic.
On 14th August, he celebrated the release of “Sex In The Mosh” with a raucous invite-only party at Toronto’s House of Lancaster, featuring stacked sets from local favorites Nino Brown, Young Teesh, Miles Freedom, and Ace. The event doubled down on Ty’s reputation as more than just a recording artist — he’s become a cultural curator in the city, pulling together DJs, dancers, and ravers into moments that feel like snapshots of Toronto’s nightlife history in the making.
TyriqueOrDie has been grinding in Toronto for years, honing his sound across genres while keeping the ethos of the rave scene — peace, love, unity, and respect — front and center. His 2022 breakout, “Toronto Funhouse,” put him on the map as a hometown hero, racking up millions of streams and grabbing the attention of Martin Garrix, Maggie Rogers, and Aluna.
As an organizer behind the Toronto Hardcore collective, Ty has also played a key role in reimagining the city’s underground scene, bringing hardcore energy to spaces that had grown stagnant and injecting the same wild spirit that fueled the infamous Christie Pitts rave of 2022, which many now cite as a turning point for the city’s DIY nightlife.
With Universal Music Canada backing him, a growing list of global DJs championing his tracks, and a reputation for uncompromising live performances, TyriqueOrDie is ready to take his brand of rave-rap fusion far beyond Toronto’s borders. “Sex In The Mosh” feels like the kind of single that could become a festival staple by the end of the summer — chaotic, loud, funny, and built for collective release.
If Ty’s goal is to soundtrack the best nights of your life, this track might just be the one that blows the roof off.
