Sarah Kinsley
The New York-based alt-pop visionary returns with a cinematic five-track collection and a massive 30-date international headline tour.
In an era where pop music is often distilled into fleeting digital loops, Sarah Kinsley remains a fascinating anomaly—a classically trained multi-instrumentalist who transitioned from a Columbia University student self-producing in her dorm room to a visionary whose soundscapes unfold like scenes in a film. Following the massive critical success of her 2024 debut album Escaper—a record that earned her a public nod of approval from superstar Chappell Roan—the singer-songwriter and producer has returned with her latest body of work, the stunning EP Fleeting. Out today via Verve Forecast/Fontana, the collection captures a specific kind of atmospheric tension that has become her signature, documenting the physics of time through a cinematic lens.
Written in the frantic, neon-lit silence of New York City taxi cabs and produced alongside long-time collaborator Jake Aron, Fleeting is an exploration of the temporary. Across five tracks, Kinsley grapples with the pain and exhilaration of knowing that everything—from a new crush to a moment of clarity—is bound to end.
The EP features the breakout singles “Lonely Touch” and the title track “Fleeting,” alongside a highly anticipated collaboration with British artist Paris Paloma on “After All.” It is a record defined by what Flood Magazine describes as “booming drums, textural synth melodies, and Kinsley’s soaring, powerful voice.”
The centerpiece of this era, the single “Truth of Pursuit,” serves as a perfect microcosm of this balance. Coinciding with the release, Kinsley has shared the self-directed and edited music video for the track, which premiered exclusively via FLOOD Magazine. The visual finds Kinsley in a dreamlike state, surrounded by a fortress of keyboards and bathed in deep blue hues as she dances to an imagined future before a jarring scream returns her to the “truth” of what could have been.
To support the release, Kinsley is embarking on her most ambitious tour to date. The 30-date headline trek kicks off on March 25th in Seattle and will see her performing at iconic venues like Brooklyn Steel and The Mod Club in Toronto, before crossing the Atlantic for a string of UK and Ireland dates, culminating in a finale at London’s legendary KOKO.
Sarah Kinsley’s Fleeting is available now on all streaming platforms. Fans can also purchase the EP on exclusive “Blueberry Jam” color vinyl here.
