Eddie Benjamin
Shawn Mendes tour, Justin Bieber collab, and debut album on the horizon
Eddie Benjamin is in motion — literally and figuratively. On August 1, the singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist released his latest single, “Driving,” along with its official music video — a breezy yet quietly soul-baring track that captures the cathartic release of simply keeping things moving.
Opening with warm guitar tones and Benjamin’s silky vocals, “Driving” builds into an airy chorus that offers reassurance like an old friend — “Shake off that feelin’, just keep it on dreamin’ my love / It’s gonna be okay…” Written, performed, and produced largely by Benjamin himself (with co-production from Alex Salibian, best known for his work with Harry Styles), the song embodies the self-reflective optimism that has become his signature.
The Adrian Villagomez–directed video leans into dream logic, following Benjamin through surreal, sunlit beachscapes that blur the lines between memory and fantasy. Shot entirely on film, it’s a visual as analog and intimate as the track feels.
“Driving” marks the third single from Benjamin’s upcoming full-length debut, a coming-of-age record that dives into relationships, grief, and connection. It follows the frenetic, genre-blending “MANIAC” and the brooding R&B urgency of “RUN!”, both released earlier this year.
Benjamin’s solo work isn’t the only thing turning heads. His fingerprints are all over Justin Bieber’s SWAG — he co-wrote and co-produced 13 tracks, including the Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 smash “Daisies,” sang background on “Way It Is” (featuring Gunna), and even made his own Hot 100 debut on the title track alongside Cash Cobain.
The new single also arrives as Benjamin gears up to join longtime collaborator Shawn Mendes on a North American tour kicking off September 25 in Boston. The trek hits New York’s Forest Hills Stadium on October 3 and wraps at L.A.’s Hollywood Bowl on October 17.
For fans who have been following Benjamin since his 2021 debut EP Emotional and its 2023 follow-up Weatherman, “Driving” feels like the warm-up lap before a full-throttle new chapter. With a debut album coming soon, he’s not just keeping it moving — he’s speeding toward his biggest moment yet.
