Babymetal
BABYMETAL has returned—and they’re not just playing by the rules, they’re rewriting them. The genre-defying Japanese metal trio released their long-awaited album METAL FORTH today via Capitol Records, along with a blistering new visual for “My Queen,” a heavy-hitting collaboration with Canadian metalcore juggernauts Spiritbox.
Described by the group as meaning “beyond metal,” METAL FORTH marks a bold new chapter in BABYMETAL’s ever-expanding mythology. Across its tracklist, the album reaches out into the farthest corners of the genre’s future, bringing back a kaleidoscopic blend of intensity, eccentricity, and global collaborations that push the limits of what heavy music can be.
From the glitchy chaos of “Kon! Kon!” featuring Indian metal fusionists Bloodywood, to the anthemic energy of “RATATATA” with Electric Callboy, and the emotional intensity of “from me to u” with alt-pop provocateur Poppy, METAL FORTH is a high-octane fusion of East and West, chaos and beauty. Other guest appearances include Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, virtuoso rock band Polyphia, and brutal deathcore act Slaughter to Prevail—each adding their own color to the metallic mosaic.
It’s a significant evolution from 2023’s concept record THE OTHER ONE, which PAPER praised for exploring the multiverse of metal with a mix of surrealism and storytelling. Now, METAL FORTH finds BABYMETAL doubling down on their role as futuristic alchemists of sound and spectacle.
“My Queen,” the Spiritbox collaboration and latest visual release, is already sparking fan theories and excitement across social media. The video sees BABYMETAL’s signature choreography meet a darker, more cinematic world—underscoring the album’s themes of power, mythology, and metamorphosis.
The release caps off the group’s biggest North American run to date, which saw them electrify crowds in New York, Toronto, Atlanta, Chicago, and more. Their next milestone? A massive headlining arena show at Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome on November 1—their largest U.S. solo concert yet.
In a move sure to thrill collectors and diehards, BABYMETAL is offering signed physical editions of METAL FORTH for the first time ever, along with alternate cover variants, cassettes, vinyl, and deluxe box sets. Exclusive VIP packages and merch bundles are also available at www.metalforth.com.
With METAL FORTH, BABYMETAL isn’t just pushing metal forward—they’re dragging it into an uncharted future with style, swagger, and a scream.
